Children; Learn from them” – Pope Francis 
"ළමයින් ජීවිතය, සතුට සහ බලාපොරොත්තුව ලබා දෙනවා. ඔවුන් නිසා සමහර විට දුක් කනගාටු සහ ප්‍රශ්න ඇතිවෙනවා තමයි. එහෙත් ක්‍රමයෙන් ළමයින් අඩු වීම හෝ ළමයින් ඕනෑ නැතිකම නිසා දුකටත් අඳුරටත් පත් වන සමාජයකට වඩා එවැනි දුක් කනගාටු රසවත්. " ප්‍රැන්සිස් සසුන් පියාණන් මේ බව කියා සිටියේ බදාදා පෙරවරුවේ සාන්ත පීතර චතුරශ්‍රයේ පැවැති පොදු හමුවේ දී ය.
මෙය පොදු හමුවේ දී පාප් වහන්සේ ළමයින් ගැන කතා කල දෙවැනි අවස්ථාවයි.මීට කලින් පෙබරවාරි 11 වැනි දින ද උන්වහන්සේ ළමයින් ගේ වැදගත් කම ගැන කතා කළහ.එදා කී අකාරයටම ළමයින් "විශිෂ්ට ත්‍යාගයක්" යයි යලි අවධාරණය කල උන්වහන්සේ, ළමයින් ගේ බිඳෙනසුළු සහ දුර්වල බව, අප ද නිතරම අන් අය මත යැපෙන්නන් බව අපට සිහිපත් කර දෙන බව කියා සිටියහ. " සමාජයක් ළමයිනට සලකන ආකාරය මත එම සමාජය විනිශ්චය කල හැකිය. අප සෑම කෙනකුම සෙසු අයගේ උදවු උපකාර, ආදරය සහ සමාව අවශ්‍ය ළමයින් බව අපට පසක් කර දෙන්නේ ඔවුන් ය . දේව රාජ්‍යයට ඇතුළුවීම සඳහා අපට එම ගුණාංග අවශ්‍යයැ' යි ප්‍රැන්සිස් පාප් වහන්සේ පැවසුහ.
" අප ස්වායත්තයි, ස්වයං පෝෂිතයි යන අදහස බිඳ දමන්නටත් ළමයින් උදවු වෙනවා. අපට අපේ ජීවිතයේ යම් මොහොතක දී සෙසු අයගේ උපකාරය රැක බලා ගැනීම අවශ්‍ය වන බව ජේසු සමිඳුන් සිය උපතේ දී පෙන්නුම් කළා."
"ළමයින් අපට පෙන්වා දෙන තවත් කරුණක් වන්නේ අප දිනෙන් දින වැඩෙන විට පවා අපට උපකාර අවශ්‍ය බවයි. අපට කිසි දා සෙසු අය මත යැපීමෙන් නිදහස් විය නොහැකි" යයි උන්වහන්සේ පෙන්වා දුන්හ.
"සියල්ලක් දෙස සරල , පිවිතුරු සහ විශ්වාසී හදවතකින් බලන්නට ලමයින් අපට අභියෝග කරනවා; උණුසුම සහ මෘදු බව දෙන්නටත් ලබන්නටත්, අප අවට ඇති ලෝකයට ප්‍රතිචාර දක්වමින් සිනාසෙන්නටත් අඬන්නටත් ඔවුන් අපට අභියෝග කරනවා"
"ලෝකයට ජීවයත් සතුටත් බලාපොරොත්තුවත් ගෙනවිත් දෙන දරුවන් ආදරයෙන් පිලිගනිමුයි " යි ප්‍රැන්සිස් පාප් වහන්සේ දේශනය සාරාංශ කරමින් කියා සිටියහ.
“Children give life, joy and hope. They also give worries and
sometimes problems, but this is better than a society that is sad and gray
because it has run out of children. Or doesn't want children.” Pope Francis made this reflection at the general audience held on March 18 in St.
Peter’s Square.
It is the second time Francis has spoken about children in his general audiences this year. On Feb. 11, he told pilgrims that a society which is “not surrounded by children, that considers them a problem, a burden, has no future.”
On that occasion he also spoke of how children are a gift, calling them “the joy of family and society.”
In today’s audience, Francis reiterated what a “great gift” children are, and said that their weakness and fragility is a reminder for everyone that we are always dependent on others.
“A society can be judged by the way it treats its children,” he said, explaining that they make us realize that “all of us are always children, in need of help, love and forgiveness, which are the conditions in order to enter theKingdom of God
Francis noted that children also help to “dismantle the idea of believing we are autonomous and self-sufficient.”
In his birth, Jesus himself reminds of how we have all at one point in time been totally dependent on the care of others, the Pope said, noting that in his ministry, Jesus gave special praise to the “little ones” who need help, especially children.
Another reminder children give is that we are always sons and daughters, and that as we age, rather than being in “complete control” of our lives, “we never cease being radically dependent on others,” Francis told pilgrims.
Children “challenge us to see things with a simple, pure and trusting heart, to receive and to offer warmth and tenderness and to laugh and cry freely in response to the world around us,” which is something that can often be “blocked” in the elderly, he noted.
The Holy Father ended his catechism saying “Let us welcome and treasure our children, who bring so much life, joy and hope to the world. How sad and bleak would our world be without them!”
