වඩා වැදගත් පූජක - පැවිදි වරුන්ගේ සංඛ්‍යාව ද? ගුණාත්මක බව ද?

Pope Francis: Vocations are about quality, not quantity

"දේව කැඳවීම් වර්ධනය කර ගත යුතුයි!" මෙය අද සමස්ත ලෝකය පුරාම  කතෝලික සභාව කතා කරන මාතෘකාවකි. දේව කැඳවීම් විශේෂයෙන්ම උතුරු අමෙරිකාවත් යුරෝපයත් මුහුණ දී ඇති අභියෝගයකි. නූතන ලෝකායත්ත ,පාරිභෝගිකවාදී, නිදහස්කාමී බටහිර සමාජයේ පූජක හෝ පැවිදි ජීවිතය සොයා එන යෞවන යෞවනියන් ගේ සංඛ්‍යාව අතිශයින් අඩු වී තිබේ. මේ තත්වයෙන් බොහෝ පීඩාවට ලක්ව ඇත්තේ පැවිදි නිකායන්ය. බටහිර ලෝකයේ පමණක් නොව ආසියාවේ ශ්‍රී ලංකාවඇතුළු  රටවල් රැසක ද, පදවි පුජකවරයට ඇතුළුවන්න ගේ සංඛ්‍යාව වැඩි වුව ද,  පැවිදි ජීවිත සොයා එන්නන් ගේ සංඛ්‍යාව දුර්වල තත්වයකට වැටී තිබේ.  

මේ නිසා දේව කැඳවීම් ගැන කෙරෙන සාකච්ඡා පුළුල් වී තිබේ.

මෙම සාකච්ඡා වල වැදගත් මාතෘකාවක් වී ඇති කරුණක් තිබේ. එනම් වඩා වැදගත් "සංඛ්‍යාව"  ද නැතහොත් පුජක හා කැපවුණු ජීවිතවලට ඇතුළුවන්නන් තුල තිබිය යුතු "ගුණාත්මක බව" ද යන්නයි.

සුදොතුම් ප්‍රැන්සිස් පාප්වහන්සේ පෙන්වා දෙන අන්දමට වඩා ඵලදායී වන්නේ පුජකවරුන් පැවිද්දන් විශාල සංඛ්‍යාවක් සිටීම නොවේ. මනා හැඩගැස්මක් ලද යහපත් දේව කැඳවීම් ය. එබැවින් දේව කැඳවීම් පිලිබඳ වගකීම් දරන්නන් වැඩි අවධානයක් යොමුකළ යුත්තේ "සංඛ්‍යාව" දෙසට නොව "ගුණාත්මකභාවය" කෙරෙහි යැයි උන්වහන්සේ පෙන්වා දෙති.

"කැපවුණු ජීවිතයේ සෞන්දර්යය ස්වකීය ජීවිත සාක්ෂියෙන්  සන්නිවේදනය කිරීමේ හැකියාව ඇති පුජකවරුන් සහ පැවිද්දන් සිටින ස්ථානයක  දේව කැඳවීම් පිලිබඳ අර්බුදයක්  නැත.ඇතැම් පැවිදි නිකායවල (හෝ පදවි වල) සිදුවෙමින් ඇති පුජකවරුන්  හෝ පැවිද්දන් ගේ  සංඛ්‍යාත්මක අඩුවීම නොතකා, වැඩි වැඩියෙන් පුද්ගලයන් බඳවා ගැනීමට වඩා, ගුණාත්මක හැඩගැස්ම ප්‍රමුඛත්වය ගත යුතුය. සෑම  කෙනකු ගේ ම ජීවිත මාර්ගය කෙරෙහි ප්‍රේමයෙන් සුපරීක්ෂාකාරී වෙමින්, දේව කැඳවීම් නිශ්චය කිරීමේ සිට හැඩ ගැස්මේ මාර්ගයේ සෑම අවධියකදීම, ඔවුනට ධර්මදානීයව අභියෝග කල යුතුය. එසේ කළහොත් "සංඛ්‍යාවේ " අර්බුදය විසින් ඊට වඩා දරුණු වූ "ගුණාත්මකභාවයේ " අර්බුදය තීන්දු නොකෙරෙනු ඇත."

සුදොතුම් ප්‍රැන්සිස් පාප්වහන්සේ මේ බව කියාසිටියේ ඉකුත් දා රෝමයේ පැවැති පැවිදි පුහුණුකරුවන් ගේ හමුවක දී ය. අප්‍රේල් 7-11 දක්වා පැවැති මෙම හමුවට ලොවපුරා පැවිදි පුහුණු කරුවන් 1300 දෙනෙක් සහභාගී වූහ. මේ වසර කැපවුණු (පැවිදි) ජීවිත වසරයි. (The Year of Consecrated Life ). මෙම හමුව පැවැත්වුනේ එම වසරේ එක අංගයක් වශයෙනි.

මෙම හමුවේ දී පාප්වහන්සේ කරුණු දෙකක් කෙරෙහි ඊට සහභාගී වූ පැවිදි හැඩගැස්ම භාර ශ්‍රෙෂ්ඨයන් ගේ අවධානය යොමුකළහ. එනම් කැපවුණු ජීවිතයේ සුන්දරත්වය සහ හැඩගස්වන්නන් ගේ වගකීම් සහිත භූමිකාවයි.

"කැපවුණු ජීවිතය සොඳුරුය. මනහරය. ප්‍රසාද ස්නාපනයේ කැඳවීම තුළ මුල් බස ඇති එය, කතෝලික සභාව සතු මාහැඟි නිධානයකි" යැයි එහි වටිනාකම විස්තර කරමින් පාප් වහන්සේ කියා සිටියහ.

හැඩගැස්ම භාරකරුවන් (Formators) පිළිබඳව කතා කල උන්වහන්සේ කියා සිටියේ ඔවුන් පැවිදි (හෝ පූජක ) ජීවිතය සොයා  පැමිණෙන යෞවනයන්ගේ දෙමාපියන් මෙන් විය යුතු බවයි.යෞවනයන් තුළ උතුම් හදවත් නිර්මාණය කිරීම සඳහා හැඩගැස්ම  භාරකරුවන් සතුව යෞවනයන් වෙනුවෙන් උතුම් හදවතක් තිබිය යුතුය. සාම කෙනෙකුම පිළිගැනීම සඳහා දයාවෙන් හා මෘදුබවින් යුත් හදවත් ඔඑඋන් සතු විය යුතු" යයි ද ප්‍රැන්සිස් පාප්වහන්සේ සඳහන් කළහ.

Well-formed vocations are more important than numerous vocations Pope Francis said in an address to religious formators on Saturday at the Vatican.

“There is not a vocations crisis where there are consecrated people able to transmit the beauty of consecration with their own witness,” the pontiff said, according to Vatican Radio's translation.

Even in the midst of declining numbers in some religious communities, the Pope said formation – rather than recruitment – should nonetheless take priority.

“It is necessary to be lovingly attentive to the path of each and to be evangelically demanding in every phase of the path of formation,” he said, “beginning with vocational discernment, so that the eventual crisis of 'quantity' might not determine the much graver crisis of 'quality.'”

Pope Francis spoke to a gathering of some 1,300 formators who were in Rome Apr. 7-11 for a five-day conference on the theme: “Living in Christ according to the way of Life of the Gospel,” an event put on by the Congregation for Consecrated life and Societies of Apostolic Life.

Although Pope Francis recently announced the upcoming Jubilee Year of Mercy, the Year of Consecrated Life is still going strong. It began Nov. 30, the first Sunday of Advent, and will conclude Feb. 2, 2016, the Feast of the Presentation of Jesus.

Pope Francis expressed particular affection for the young people under the care of those responsible for their formation in the religious life, and stressed the importance of this ministry.

“Consecrated life is beautiful. It is one of the most precious treasures of the Church, rooted in the vocation of baptism,” the pontiff said.

Those responsible for the formation of young people, he added, have the “privilege to participate in the work of the Father who forms the heart of the Son in those whom the Spirit has called.”

“In each of you I see our young people, protagonists of the present living with passion, and promoters of a future animated by hope. Young people who, moved by the love of God, search for the path they are to take in their own lives in the church.”

He urged formators to be true mothers and fathers to those under their guidance.  Formators should possess “a great heart for the young, to form in them great hearts, able to receive everyone, hearts rich in mercy, full of tenderness.”

“The young must be formed in humble and intelligent freedom to let himself be educated by God the Father every day of their life, at every age, both in the mission and in fraternity, both in action and in contemplation,” he said.
